HF is a colorless gas or liquid with fuming odor. Its melting point is -83.6 ̊C (-118.48 ̊F), boiling point 19.5 ̊C (67.1 ̊F). HF is toxic, corrosive. When dissolves in water, HF becomes hydrofluoric acid which is a strong acid.
Example Reactions:
• HF + KOH = KF + H2O
• HF + NaOH = H2O + NaF
• HCl + NaF = HF + NaCl
• NH3 + HF = NH4F
• HF + LiOH = LiF + H2O
• KF + HBr = HF + KBr
• C2H3OF + 2O2 = 2CO2 + H2O + HF
• C2H3OF + O2 = 2CO + H2O + HF
• NaF + HI = NaI + HF
• C16H18FN3O3 + 45H2O2 = 16CO2 + 52H2O + 3HNO3 + HF
