NaCl is a colorless crystal at room temperature. It is soluble in water. Its melting point is 801 ̊C (1473.8 ̊F), density 2.16 g/cm3. NaCl is commonly called salt that being used daily for cooking. NaCl is also widely used for preventing freezing in snow weather.

Example Reactions:
• NaOH + HCl = NaCl + H2O
• HCl + NaHCO3 = H2O + CO2 + NaCl
• NH4Cl + NaOH = NH3 + H2O + NaCl
• NaCl + KNO3 = NaNO3 + KCl
• NaCl + HNO3 = NaNO3 + HCl
• KI + NaCl = KCl + NaI
• 2NaOH + Cl2 = NaClO + NaCl + H2O
• H2SO4 + NaCl = HCl + NaHSO4
• NH4Cl + NaOH = NH4OH + NaCl
• NaHSO3 + HCl = SO2 + H2O + NaCl
