Aluminum Carbonate
Name:
Aluminum Carbonate
Formula:
Al2(CO3)3
Molar Mass:
233.9898

Al2(CO3)3 is unstable. It is easy to react with water or vapor to form Al(OH)3, and easy to decompose.

Example Reactions:
• Al2(CO3)3 = Al2O3 + 3CO2
• 2Al(OH)3 + 3H2CO3 = Al2(CO3)3 + 6H2O
• 2AlCl3 + 3Na2CO3 = 6NaCl + Al2(CO3)3
• 2Al(NO3)3 + 3(NH4)2CO3 = Al2(CO3)3 + 6NH4NO3
• 3Na2CO3 + 2Al(NO3)3 = Al2(CO3)3 + 6NaNO3
• Al2(CO3)3 + 6HNO3 = 2Al(NO3)3 + 3H2O + 3CO2
• 2Al(NO3)3 + 3K2CO3 = Al2(CO3)3 + 6KNO3
• Al2(CO3)3 + 6HCl = 2AlCl3 + 3CO2 + 3H2O
• 2Al(NO3)3 + 3CaCO3 = 3Ca(NO3)2 + Al2(CO3)3
• 3H2SO4 + Al2(CO3)3 = Al2(SO4)3 + 3H2O + 3CO2
